We're Hiring! Administrative Assistant

Position: Administrative Assistant - Temporary Canada Summer Job (9 weeks/ 30 hours per week)

Salary: $22/hour

Reports to: Executive Director


  • Perform administrative tasks related to the delivery of our flagship program, CNECTing, and our online course, Primary Concerns;

  • Support ED with organizing their schedule, maintaining their calendar, and preparing for meetings;

  • Help coordinate the flow of information internally (via email and mail) and support Not 9 to 5’s communications with program participants, community partners, and key stakeholders;

  • Prepare information for staff and board meetings including agendas and minutes;

  • Organization and archiving of Google Drive folders and files

  • Support the organization’s human resources, including ensuring employee information and workplace practices and policies are up-to-date and adhered to;

  • Support the organization’s financial needs

  • Additional duties and responsibilities will be assigned as required within the scope of this position.

Skills and Experience:

  • Familiar with G-Suite, Wix, Slack, Canva (or similar platform)

  • Experience in hospitality and food and beverage service work is a benefit

  • An understanding of anti-oppressive principles and equity

  • Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Effective organizational skills and ability to accept direction

  • Professional and able to work cooperatively with colleagues, program participants, and community partners

Eligible applicants must be aged between 19–30 years old and legally entitled to work in Canada.

Not 9 to 5 exists to help the industry take this first step towards addressing this silent epidemic.
