Position: Social Media Manager - Temporary Canada Summer Job (9 weeks/ 30 hours per week)


Salary: $22/hour


Reports to: Executive Director


Responsibilities:

  • Create content for and manage Not 9 to 5’s social media accounts, including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook

  • Manage and update Not 9 to 5’s online platform, CNECTing

  • Support administrative duties associated with Not 9 to 5’s online course, Primary Concerns

  • Perform administrative tasks related to the delivery of our flagship program, CNECTing, and our online course, Primary Concerns

  • Additional duties and responsibilities will be assigned as required within the scope of this position


Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity and experiencing managing social media platforms and Hootsuite

  • Proficient in G-Suite, Slack, Wix, Mailchimp, Planoly, Canva (or similar platform)

  • Experience creating social media campaigns

  • Exceptional communication skills, including ability to create dynamic and engaging written, graphic and video content

  • Experience in hospitality and food and beverage service work is a benefit

  • An understanding of anti-oppressive principles and equity

  • Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Effective organizational skills and ability to accept direction

  • Professional and able to work cooperatively with colleagues, program participants, and community partners


Eligible applicants must be aged between 19–30 years old and legally entitled to work in Canada.

Through practical education and meaningful community-building, we are reimagining the industry by breaking stigmas and fuelling hope. We destigmatize mental health challenges, reduce harm, and provide industry-specific resources for the hospitality sector in Ontario. Not 9 to 5 exists to help the industry take this first step towards addressing this silent epidemic.
